Role Overview

Teach and assess students in your academic discipline across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, while supporting their development through project and thesis supervision. The role also contributes to course design, research, university administration and engagement with professional and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver subject-specific teaching for undergraduate and postgraduate students, and assess their learning.
• Guide undergraduate projects and other practical or experiential learning activities.
• Supervise postgraduate dissertations and theses through the research process.
• Contribute to the design and improvement of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
• Develop, lead or take part in research projects relevant to the discipline.
• Provide professional and community services, build external partnerships and support fundraising initiatives.
• Undertake administrative tasks and other duties assigned as part of the role.

Requirements & Qualifications

• One of the following academic routes is required:
  • An earned doctorate, or equivalent qualification, from a recognised academic institution; or
  • A master’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited and recognised university. The master’s-degree route applies to Health and ICT disciplines.
• For applicants applying with a master’s degree: at least three years of teaching experience at university level, or relevant experience in research or industry.
• Registration with the relevant professional body, or eligibility to register where applicable.
• Applicants using the master’s-degree route must have at least one publication. Publications are an added advantage for applicants with a doctorate.
