Your attention to detail keeps experiments on schedule and helps the wider team make sound, data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out analytical and industrial chemistry experiments following standard operating procedures and equipment specifications.
  • Monitor lab equipment for signs of wear or malfunction, perform routine maintenance, and escalate repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free laboratory environment, including proper waste segregation and disposal.
  • Coordinate the ordering and stocking of reagents, consumables, and lab instruments, ensuring availability for ongoing work.
  • Record experimental data accurately, prepare clear summaries, and present results using charts and graphs for supervisor review.
  • Develop or recommend procedural improvements that boost testing efficiency, accuracy, and reproducibility.
  • Train and guide less experienced technicians and students on SOPs, equipment use, and safe laboratory practices.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and the immediate supervisor to resolve experiment-related or equipment-related issues promptly.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Analytical Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a recognized equivalent qualification.
  • At least three years of university-level teaching experience as a Lecturer, or six years of research or industry experience in a relevant laboratory setting.
