Role Overview
This role is for an experienced accountant based in Dubai who can take full ownership of the company’s day-to-day financial operations. You will be responsible for keeping accurate books, preparing management reports, and ensuring all UAE VAT and Corporate Tax filings are completed correctly and on time. Your work will directly support the company’s financial health and its ability to stay compliant with FTA regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all routine accounting and bookkeeping activities, including recording sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payments.
- Maintain a well-organised general ledger, journals, and supporting accounting records with full accuracy.
- Prepare monthly financial statements such as Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet, and deliver them in a timely manner.
- Perform regular reconciliations for bank accounts, customer accounts, supplier accounts, and inter-company transactions.
- Manage the full accounts payable and accounts receivable cycle, including follow-ups and payment processing.
- Prepare and submit UAE VAT returns in accordance with FTA requirements, and monitor all VAT and Corporate Tax deadlines to ensure on-time filing.
- Support external audits by preparing financial schedules, compiling supporting documents, and responding to auditors’ queries.
- Coordinate the annual external audit process, including preparation of financial statements and audit-ready documentation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Strong accounting knowledge with practical experience in UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance and filing.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage the full accounting cycle without constant supervision.
- Hands-on experience with bookkeeping, financial reporting, reconciliations, and managing AP/AR.
- Familiarity with FTA regulations, VAT return preparation, and Corporate Tax filing procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software is expected; hands-on experience with QuickBooks is a distinct advantage.
- A relevant degree or diploma in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to meet strict reporting deadlines.
