Role Overview
This is a structured internship for current students or recent graduates with a background in accounting or business, aimed at building practical skills within a real finance environment. You will work closely with experienced professionals on day-to-day accounting tasks, data handling, and reporting support, while also taking ownership of assigned projects that contribute directly to the team’s efficiency. The role is designed to give you meaningful exposure to how finance operations function in practice, while providing genuine value to the organisation through accurate, timely, and well-organised work.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with processing financial transactions, including recording journal entries and maintaining accurate ledgers
- Support accounts payable and receivable activities by verifying invoices, preparing payments, and following up on outstanding balances
- Reconcile bank statements and internal accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies
- Help prepare monthly reports, schedules, and summaries for management review
- Maintain organised digital and physical records of financial documents, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity
- Use spreadsheets and accounting software to manage data, perform analyses, and spot discrepancies
- Collaborate with team members on ad-hoc finance projects and process improvement initiatives
- Provide administrative support during audits and financial reviews, including document retrieval and verification
Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a Degree or Diploma in Accounts, Finance, or a related business qualification from a recognised institution
- Strong working knowledge of computer applications, particularly spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) and digital tools; familiarity with accounting software is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and respect for confidentiality
- Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Resilient and adaptable, with a positive attitude and willingness to learn on the job
- Flexibility to occasionally adjust working hours, travel, or provide after-hours support when necessary
- High ethical standards, honesty, and a strong sense of ownership and accountability
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
