Role Overview
As a Membership Intern, you will be the front line of EPROK's growth efforts — reaching out to companies across the sector, explaining why membership is worth their investment, and turning initial interest into signed-up members. The role blends outreach, sales-style persuasion, record keeping, and event support, so you will spend time on the phone, in inboxes, and out in the field meeting prospective members face to face. Your work directly determines how quickly and how broadly the organisation's membership base expands, which in turn strengthens its collective voice and the reach of its collection and partnership programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and map potential member companies within the sector, identifying the right contacts and building a pipeline of recruitment prospects.
- Carry out direct outreach to prospective members through phone calls, emails, and in-person visits, presenting the EPROK membership value proposition clearly and persuasively.
- Track and follow up on membership leads, keeping an accurate record of where each prospect stands in the recruitment process.
- Maintain and regularly update the membership recruitment database, tracking tools, and progress reports so that activity and results are visible to the Coordinator.
- Help plan and coordinate member engagement meetings, networking forums, and other events that strengthen relationships with existing and prospective members.
- Draft and prepare marketing materials, membership briefs, and promotional content that support recruitment conversations.
- Guide new members through onboarding, including registration steps and completion of all required documentation.
- Provide field coordination support for e-waste collection drives and partner initiatives that extend the organisation's collection programmes.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline.
- An entry-level opportunity suited to recent graduates or early-career candidates with a strong interest in marketing, membership development, and business growth.
- Confident verbal communication and persuasion skills, with the ability to engage prospective members professionally and handle objections during outreach.
- Working familiarity with sales or membership recruitment processes, and comfort working toward recruitment targets.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues, member companies, and external stakeholders from varied backgrounds.
- Good networking instincts and the confidence to initiate and build new professional relationships.
- Solid organisational habits — reliable record keeping, follow-through on leads, and attention to detail in documentation.
- Self-driven and target-oriented, able to manage your own schedule across outreach and administrative tasks.
- Effective presentation skills for pitching to individuals and small groups.
- Willingness to travel for field visits and member meetings.
What We Offer / Why Join
- Hands-on ownership of real recruitment activity, with measurable results you can point to rather than simulated exercises.
- Direct exposure to business development, member relations, and event coordination within a membership organisation.
- Field experience through member visits and e-waste collection drive coordination, giving you practical insight into how outreach works outside the office.
- Regular interaction with a diverse range of member companies, sector stakeholders, and industry networks.
- Additional duties may be assigned by the EPROK Coordinator, giving you varied exposure across the organisation's work.
