Role Overview
You will be the design authority inside the MICASSO customer journey, guiding shoppers from a single tile choice to a fully coordinated, whole-space solution. Day to day, you will sit with customers to unpack their lifestyle, spatial constraints, and visual preferences, then translate those into concrete product selections that marry aesthetics with practical performance. Your work directly strengthens customer confidence, lifts the commercial value of each consultation, and shapes how the showroom communicates the full potential of the MICASSO range.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead one-on-one design consultations, asking the right questions about how a space will be used, who will use it, and what feeling the customer wants to create.
- Move conversations beyond individual tiles by building layered recommendations that combine flooring, wall surfaces, feature accents, sanitaryware, and complementary finishes into one coherent system.
- Interpret floor plans, measurements, reference photography, and loose inspiration into practical layouts, specifying tile sizes, laying patterns, grout considerations, and transitions between indoor and outdoor zones.
- Create tailored mood boards and visual concepts that show colour palettes, material pairings, and finish combinations in a way customers can immediately grasp.
- Produce sketches, digital concept sheets, and simple 3D visualisations using customer-supplied images and plans to demonstrate realistic end results.
- Partner with sales consultants during consultations, stepping in when design expertise is needed to resolve indecision, present alternatives, and steer customers toward a final, order-ready selection.
- Maintain a structured record of every consultation, documenting recommended products and concepts so the sales team can prepare accurate quotations and follow-ups.
- Identify opportunities to elevate the showroom experience by proposing room-set displays, product storytelling, colour stories, and seasonal installations that show products in complete spaces rather than in isolation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Spatial Design, Architecture, or a directly related field.
- 3–5 years of practical interior design experience, with a strong preference for residential projects and customer-facing showroom or studio work.
- Proven experience conducting direct client consultations and converting vague ideas into definitive design decisions.
- Demonstrable skill in building mood boards, material combinations, space concepts, and visual presentations.
- Working familiarity with tiles, surfaces, kitchens, bathrooms, sanitaryware, and finish materials is a significant advantage.
- Solid grasp of space planning fundamentals: proportion, circulation, light, and installation practicality.
- Commercial awareness — knowing how to recommend products that fit a customer's budget while still opening doors to relevant cross-sell opportunities.
- Organised record-keeping habits and the ability to document recommendations clearly for internal teams.
