  • Assist reporters and editors in researching, fact-checking, and verifying information for breaking news and feature stories.
  • Draft news briefs, social media posts, or short articles under the guidance of a mentor.
  • Attend press conferences, community events, or interviews alongside a senior journalist to observe and take notes.
  • Help maintain editorial calendars, manage source contacts, and log raw footage or audio files.
  • Contribute to content management systems by uploading, formatting, and tagging published pieces.
  • Participate in daily newsroom meetings and pitch story ideas that reflect your academic training.
  • Compile a final portfolio of work samples produced during the attachment period for evaluation.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Official academic transcripts for the current academic year.
  • A valid student identification card from your university or college.
  • A valid MCK Student Press Card for the year 2026.
  • A mandatory sample of journalistic work – this may include published online content, school newspaper articles, broadcast clips, or relevant classroom projects.
