Job Description

Role Overview

This position focuses on keeping an organisation’s technology environment operational and user-friendly. You will write and test straightforward code, support system rollouts, maintain ICT hardware, and act as the first point of contact for staff who need technical assistance. Your work directly reduces downtime and helps colleagues complete their daily tasks without interruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and test simple computer programs based on detailed instructions and technical specifications.
  • Support the installation, configuration, and implementation of computer systems and software applications.
  • Provide hands-on user support, diagnose common issues, and train staff on how to use ICT tools effectively.
  • Carry out routine repairs and preventive maintenance on ICT equipment, including desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Monitor the performance of ICT hardware and systems to identify potential problems before they escalate.
  • Document faults, prepare incident reports, and escalate unresolved issues to the appropriate teams for further action.
  • Assist with basic network connectivity checks and ensure peripherals are properly connected and configured.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Information Technology from a recognised institution or an equivalent qualification.
  • A networking professional certificate that demonstrates practical knowledge of network fundamentals and connectivity.
  • An application or software development certificate showing competence in writing and testing basic code.
  • A cybersecurity professional certificate with an understanding of security fundamentals and safe system practices.
  • An ICT project management certificate indicating the ability to support structured technology initiatives.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to follow technical instructions accurately.
  • Good communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical users.
