Job Description

Role Overview

This position leads the day-to-day execution of the bank's human capital strategy, translating high-level commercial goals into practical HR actions that improve talent outcomes and operational effectiveness. The role focuses on aligning workforce planning, employee relations, and performance culture with the bank's overall business objectives, ensuring HR processes directly support revenue growth and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement annual HR plans that reflect the bank's strategic priorities, covering recruitment, retention, succession planning, and workforce optimisation.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders on all people-related matters, including employee relations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions, while ensuring compliance with labour laws and banking regulations.
  • Drive talent management initiatives such as performance appraisal cycles, career pathing, and leadership development programmes that build a strong internal pipeline.
  • Analyse HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, forecast needs, and recommend interventions that improve productivity and reduce turnover.
  • Champion a positive organisational culture by designing engagement activities, recognition schemes, and communication strategies that reinforce the bank's values.
  • Partner with senior management to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion practices into hiring, promotion, and retention decisions.
  • Ensure all HR policies and procedures are up-to-date, legally sound, and consistently applied across all departments and branches.
  • Manage the end-to-end employee lifecycle, from onboarding through exit interviews, with a focus on delivering a seamless and fair experience for all staff.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised accredited university.
  • Completed or ongoing CHRP (Certified Human Resource Professional) certification.
  • Active member of the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).
  • Minimum of five years of progressive experience in human resource management, with a proven track record of supporting talent strategy in a complex organisation.
  • Deep understanding of the local banking industry, including products, services, and regulatory environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of all relevant labour laws, employment practices, and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a credible, trusted advisor to senior business leaders on HR risks and opportunities.
