HR Systems Analyst (Security & Integrations)

Role Overview

This position is the technical owner of two things that keep a global HR operation running: the pipelines that move worker data between Workday and the rest of the enterprise, and the security model that decides who can see and change that data. On a typical day you might be rebuilding a connector that feeds a payroll provider, tightening a domain security policy so it matches the organization's data classification rules, and automating a bulk provisioning task that HR currently handles by hand. You report to the Global HR Systems Product Manager and serve as the connective tissue between HR, Payroll, Finance, IT, and Information Security — turning business requirements into working integrations and defensible access controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and maintain Workday integrations connecting the platform to payroll engines, benefits carriers, and other third-party systems, using EIBs, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, and Orchestrate.
• Configure and maintain security groups, domain security policies, and business process security policies so that access levels reflect the organization's data classification standard.
• Create rule-based automation for repetitive, high-volume people processes — bulk data loads, account provisioning, permission assignments, and location or hierarchy setup — primarily through Orchestrate flows and EIBs.
• Monitor integration health continuously, catching failed or degraded runs early, diagnosing root causes, and resolving issues before they turn into escalations.
• Validate integrations and security configuration through Workday's release cycles and whenever a functional area changes, confirming that nothing breaks downstream.
• Gather requirements from HR and non-HR partners, map data elements between systems, and escalate complex cross-functional design questions to the Global HR Systems Product Manager.
• Partner with HRIS colleagues, Payroll, Finance, and IT to spot opportunities for efficiency in how Workday is currently used, including dependencies that cross team boundaries.
• Produce reporting and dashboards covering integration performance and security compliance, and take on special projects as they come up.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience, plus at least four years managing data sharing and integrations between enterprise software applications.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience building and maintaining Workday integrations with EIBs, Core Connectors, and Workday Studio; working knowledge of Workday Orchestrate is a strong advantage.
• Practical understanding of Workday's security framework, including security groups, domain security policies, and business process security policies.
• Working familiarity with data security and classification frameworks such as GDPR or an equivalent standard.
• Experience working with large datasets, including a solid grasp of how data elements relate across systems and how to apply data cleansing practices.
• Intermediate knowledge of relational database concepts.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability with close attention to detail, plus the time management and organizational skills to prioritize competing demands.
• Self-motivated and equally effective working independently or as part of a team.
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and cross-group collaboration skills.
• Flexibility in day-to-day scheduling and the ability to absorb and react to shifting priorities quickly.
• Preferred: Workday Pro certification in Integrations or Security; experience supporting a globally distributed workforce; familiarity with helpdesk ticketing systems; prior work with an international nonprofit deploying systems across varied IT infrastructure and low or intermittent bandwidth conditions; background in data migration and systems integration projects.
