(CHAI) was founded in 2002 with a transformational goal: help save the lives of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS in the developing world by dramatically scaling up antiretroviral treatment. When CHAI was founded, many viewed this goal as unreasonable because health systems in poor countries were too weak and prices of relevant drugs and diagnostic tests were too high. CHAI played a leadership role, working alongside governments and other partners, to lower the costs of treatment and help build the in-country systems necessary to provide lifesaving treatment to millions of people. Since then, CHAI has pursued several similarly ambitious goals, from scaling up pediatric AIDS treatment in order to achieve equity with adults in a time frame few thought possible, to rapidly accelerating the rollout of new vaccines. Job Description

Associate, Emerging Talent - Global Talent Acquisition

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain active relationships with target universities globally, including their careers services, relevant faculty and student societies, ensuring CHAI has a consistent and visible presence at the institutions that matter most.
  • Coordinate CHAI's attendance at university careers events and fairs, organising logistics, preparing materials and representing CHAI directly to students in a way that is engaging and grounded in the CHAI mission.
  • Work with CHAI programme leads and staff who are alumni of target universities, activating them as advocates and speakers and coordinating their involvement in campus activities.
  • Support the end-to-end coordination of CHAI's intern programme, managing the application process, communications, and logistics for each cohort and ensuring every intern has a well-organised, well-supported experience.
  • Maintain a clear pipeline of emerging talent from target institutions, tracking engagement, applications, and outcomes in iCIMS (our ATS) with strong data integrity.
  • Work with the wider TA team to develop and refine CHAI's approach to university partnerships, including which institutions to prioritise and what engagement at each looks like in practice.
  • Liaise with the Brand & Attraction Specialist to ensure CHAI's presence at target universities is consistent with the broader employer brand and that materials are up-to-date and compelling.
  • Produce straightforward reporting on university engagement and intern programme activity for the TA team.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a campus recruiting, university partnerships or early careers role, or a role with significant involvement in events coordination and external relationship management.
  • Comfortable representing an organisation directly to student audiences, with the confidence and interpersonal skills to make CHAI's story land with people who are early in their careers.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with experience coordinating programmes or events across multiple stakeholders and locations.
  • Comfortable working with data and tracking tools, able to maintain accurate records and produce clear reporting on engagement activity.
  • An understanding of what good early careers and intern programme management looks like, from application through to the end of a placement.
  • A working knowledge of global health or international development sufficient to speak credibly about CHAI's mission to students and university partners.
  • Fluency in both English and French. Portuguese or Spanish is a plus.

Skills and Traits

Hard Skills

  • University and external relationship management, building consistent and productive partnerships with careers services, faculty, and student organisations over time.
  • Events coordination, managing logistics for careers fairs, campus visits and speaking engagements across multiple institutions and geographies.
  • Intern programme coordination, managing cohort communications, schedules, and logistics from application through to completion.
  • ATS management and data integrity, maintaining accurate records of university engagement, applications, and pipeline activity in iCIMS.
  • Content and materials support, working with the Brand & Attraction Specialist to ensure all university-facing materials are current, compelling and on-brand.

Soft Skills

  • Personable and confident in external settings, able to represent CHAI warmly and credibly to students, careers professionals and university partners.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, keeping university engagement, intern coordination and reporting all moving at the same time.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to identify what needs to happen next without being directed at every step.
  • A genuine interest in early careers and in connecting talented people to meaningful work in global health.
  • A collaborative working style, working closely with programme leads, CHAI alumni and the wider TA team to make the partnerships work in practice.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or recruiting for international NGOs, global health or international development organisations, with an understanding of the mission-driven candidate landscape.
  • Experience working across multiple geographies and with universities in different regions, with an understanding of how student and institutional engagement varies by market.
