(CHAI) was founded in 2002 with a transformational goal: help save the lives of millions of people living with HIV/AIDS in the developing world by dramatically scaling up antiretroviral treatment. When CHAI was founded, many viewed this goal as unreasonable because health systems in poor countries were too weak and prices of relevant drugs and diagnostic tests were too high. CHAI played a leadership role, working alongside governments and other partners, to lower the costs of treatment and help build the in-country systems necessary to provide lifesaving treatment to millions of people. Since then, CHAI has pursued several similarly ambitious goals, from scaling up pediatric AIDS treatment in order to achieve equity with adults in a time frame few thought possible, to rapidly accelerating the rollout of new vaccines. Job Description

Associate, Sourcing & Insights - Global Talent Acquisition

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in close partnership with recruiters to develop and execute sourcing strategies across CHAI's global hiring portfolio, with a particular focus on complex and niche searches where required.
  • Source and engage passive candidates directly — through LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and targeted outreach — while also managing referrals from leaders and their teams and maintaining contact with alumni as an active sourcing channel.
  • Build compelling market intelligence outputs — candidate and market maps, supply and demand analysis, and role-specific summaries — for recruiters and hiring managers before a search begins.
  • Engage directly with passive candidates, building their interest in CHAI and bringing them into the process with an approach that is warm, informed and grounded in the CHAI mission.
  • Build credible, well-researched long lists — sifting through large volumes of candidates with strong attention to detail and clear, consistent dispositioning at every stage.
  • Use data and feedback to continuously refine outreach — adapting messages, channels, and follow-up approach based on what is working, and sharing successful approaches with the team.
  • Make full use of CHAI's sourcing and TA technology stack, including AI-enabled tools, to find the right candidates faster and support a higher quality of search.
  • Track and report on sourcing channel effectiveness, helping the team understand which approaches are delivering and where effort should be focused.
  • Maintain accurate candidate and pipeline data in iCIMS, ensuring sourced candidates are tracked consistently and handed over to recruiters with full context.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience in a sourcing or talent acquisition role with a strong focus on proactive, direct sourcing of passive candidates across a range of disciplines and geographies.
  • Strong LinkedIn Recruiter skills and Boolean capability, with a track record of finding and engaging candidates who are not actively on the market.
  • Experience building market intelligence outputs — candidate and market maps, supply and demand analyses and candidate briefings — that inform search strategy and hiring manager conversations.
  • Comfortable working in close partnership with recruiters, contributing to searches without owning them end-to-end.
  • Strong outreach and engagement skills — able to reach passive candidates in a way that is personalised, credible and compelling.
  • High attention to detail when reviewing large volumes of candidates — able to disposition clearly and consistently with strong data integrity.
  • A working knowledge of global health or international development sufficient to engage candidates credibly and represent CHAI's mission in outreach.

Skills and Traits

Hard skills:

  • Proactive sourcing using LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean and direct candidate identification across multiple platforms and communities.
  • Talent market mapping and intelligence — building candidate and market maps, supply and demand analysis, and role-specific summaries that are genuinely useful for recruiters and hiring managers.
  • Sourcing channel knowledge — understanding which platforms, communities and approaches work for different role types and tracking their effectiveness over time.
  • Outreach and candidate engagement — writing engaging outreach messages, following up consistently and bringing passive candidates into the process in a way that represents CHAI well.
  • ATS data management — maintaining accurate candidate and pipeline records in iCIMS with strong data integrity throughout.

Soft skills:

  • A collaborative working style — this role works through close partnership with recruiters, so the ability to contribute meaningfully without owning the outcome is essential.
  • Curious and research-minded — comfortable going deep on a talent market or discipline to understand it properly before making sourcing decisions.
  • Organised and systematic — managing multiple sourcing workstreams across different roles and geographies without losing track of them.
  • Clear communicator — able to present market intelligence and sourcing findings in a straightforward, useful way.
  • Proactive and self-directed - able to identify where the team needs support and get on with it.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in or recruiting for international NGOs, global health or international development organisations, with an understanding of the mission-driven candidate landscape.
  • Experience sourcing candidates across multiple geographies and disciplines simultaneously, adapting approach to different markets and role types.
