Role Overview
This HR Officer position sits within a healthcare-focused organisation and exists to put HR policies into practice by supporting staffing, compliance, and day-to-day people management across several units. You will work closely with the Senior HR Business Partner to keep the workforce balanced, records accurate, and employees well-supported, while also handling on-boarding, performance cycles, and administrative reporting that keeps the HR function running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Senior HR Business Partner to align staffing levels for permanent, contract, and locum employees, and ensure monthly rotas, time-and-attendance submissions, and related records are completed accurately and on schedule.
- Act as the initial point of contact for HR-related questions from staff, offering practical guidance on leave, workplace policies, disciplinary matters, and employment law, and escalating more complex issues to the HR Business Partner as needed.
- Support recruitment by being part of selection panels when requested, keeping transparent records of interview scores, and following up with candidates, including runners-up, when necessary.
- Maintain and update the HRMIS and personnel files so that employment contracts, medical licences, staff registrations, dependant records, and other sensitive information are accurate, confidential, and disclosed only with proper authorisation.
- Take responsibility for the full employee lifecycle, including coordinating inductions and on-the-job orientation, tracking confirmation dates, issuing and recovering uniforms and name tags, and conducting exit interviews for departing staff.
- Assist in planning and organising training sessions, help coordinate annual performance reviews by preparing documentation, and support employee engagement initiatives that promote teamwork and a positive working environment.
- Work with managers to ensure payroll data, such as locum payments, is submitted correctly and on time to the payroll function, and help consolidate HR reports for the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Monitor and drive compliance results, including closing internal audit issues according to plan and meeting established quality targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; a relevant HR certification is a plus.
- At least three years of experience in an HR role.
- Strong awareness of organisational dynamics and a detail-oriented approach to record-keeping and reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team and be a reliable point of contact for employees at all levels.
