Role Overview
This internship places you at the heart of the HR function, where you will handle real administrative work that keeps the department running smoothly. You will rotate through recruiting, employee records, reporting, and compliance-related tasks, giving you a practical foundation in how HR supports an entire organization. Your efforts will directly help the team reduce bottlenecks, improve documentation accuracy, and deliver a better experience for employees and candidates alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft and publish job openings across multiple hiring platforms, then track responses to keep the recruitment pipeline organized.
- Coordinate interview logistics, including scheduling sessions, sending invitations, and following up with candidates and panel members.
- Support candidate screening by reviewing applications against role requirements and preparing shortlists for the HR Manager.
- Prepare official HR communications such as employment contracts, confirmation letters, and internal notices under supervision.
- Serve as the first point of contact for basic employee inquiries, triaging questions and escalating more complex matters to the HR Manager.
- Assemble onboarding packs containing offer letters, policy summaries, and induction schedules for new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee files and HR databases, ensuring records stay current, confidential, and easy to retrieve.
- Contribute to HR improvement projects, including policy updates, job description refreshes, internal audits, and compliance checks.
- Help track performance appraisal cycles and coordinate review meetings, ensuring documentation is completed on time.
- Compile weekly, monthly, and quarterly HR data into clear reports and presentations for management.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Degree in Human Resource Management or a closely related field.
- A working understanding of Kenyan labour laws and established HR best practices.
- Practical proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with HRIS platforms or the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Excellent written and spoken English, with the confidence to communicate clearly across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and close attention to detail, even when handling repetitive administrative tasks.
- Ability to maintain discretion when dealing with sensitive employee information.
