Job Description

Role Overview

You will work directly with the Lead Consultant to drive the design and refinement of grading and compensation structures. Day to day, this means conducting job analysis sessions with department heads, gathering and evaluating role content, and running market salary comparisons. Your analytical output directly shapes how the organisation classifies roles and sets competitive pay – a foundation for attracting and retaining talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead one-on-one consultations and small-group interviews with employees to capture accurate job facts.
  • Audit and update existing job descriptions to reflect current responsibilities and reporting lines.
  • Facilitate structured job analysis workshops with cross-functional teams.
  • Apply a defined evaluation methodology to score and rank positions.
  • Source and benchmark salary data from relevant industry surveys to inform pay ranges.
  • Review proposed organisational structures and flag inconsistencies in role levels.
  • Draft detailed analytical reports with clear recommendations for grading adjustments.
  • Prepare slide decks and co-present findings to senior management for sign-off.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Active membership with the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) in good standing.
  • 4–7 years of hands-on experience in an HR consulting environment.
  • Proven track record in job evaluation (using established point-factor or market-pricing methods).
  • Demonstrated ability to administer salary surveys and interpret compensation analytics.
  • Previous involvement in organisational restructuring assignments (e.g., role re‑grading, span‑of‑control analysis).
  • Strong report‑writing and data‑presentation skills, with attention to narrative and evidence.
