An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Horticulturist – Nursery & Native Plants to join a professional team in Abu Dhabi. This role is suited for a skilled horticulture professional with expertise in commercial nursery operations, native and ornamental plant production, and supporting large-scale landscaping projects.
The successful candidate will oversee nursery production, maintain high plant quality standards, manage operational teams, and coordinate with multiple departments to ensure timely plant supply. Candidates with UAE nursery experience and a strong understanding of local growing conditions will have a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage the production and maintenance of native and ornamental trees, shrubs, and groundcovers.
• Develop nursery production plans based on project requirements and delivery schedules.
• Review BOQs, plant schedules, project specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Ensure plants meet quality standards, including health, size, root development, and dispatch readiness.
• Oversee irrigation, fertilization, plant nutrition, pruning, pest control, and disease management.
• Monitor nursery inventory, plant availability, mortality rates, and future production needs.
• Lead nursery teams to improve productivity, operational efficiency, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with Projects, Procurement, Sales, and Operations to ensure timely plant supply.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Plant Science, or a related field.
• Strong practical experience in commercial nursery and horticultural operations.
• UAE nursery experience is highly preferred.
• Excellent knowledge of native and ornamental plants suitable for UAE conditions.
• Experience supporting large-scale landscaping projects and plant supply operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Good command of the English language.
• Strong knowledge of:
• Commercial nursery operations.
• Irrigation systems and plant nutrition.
• Pest and disease management.
• Plant quality control and inventory management.
• BOQs, plant schedules, and landscape project coordination.
