Job Description

Job Summary

  • We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Heavy Equipment Sales Representative to drive sales and expand the company\'s market presence across Nairobi, Central Kenya, Mombasa, and Nyanza. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing key customer relationships, promoting heavy machinery and equipment, and achieving assigned sales targets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
  • Identify and pursue new customers and business opportunities within the assigned territories.
  • Promote and sell heavy equipment, machinery, and related products.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, construction companies, mining companies, manufacturers, agricultural businesses, and other potential clients.
  • Conduct regular customer visits and product presentations.
  • Understand customer equipment requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, negotiate commercial terms, and follow up on sales opportunities.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to closing and delivery.
  • Maintain an updated sales pipeline and provide regular sales forecasts.
  • Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, and customer requirements.
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, demonstrations, and industry events.
  • Coordinate with technical and after-sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Follow up with customers regarding equipment performance, servicing, spare parts, and maintenance requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, quotations, orders, and sales activities.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
  • Travel extensively within the assigned regions to meet customers and develop business.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and maintain long-term business relationships.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in heavy equipment, machinery, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, or related technical sales.
  • Strong understanding of the heavy equipment market in Kenya.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong business development and lead-generation abilities.
  • Technical understanding of heavy machinery and equipment will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a large geographical territory.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across Nairobi, Central Kenya, Mombasa, and Nyanza.
  • Valid driving licence is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/sales management systems.
