Job Title: Health Records & Information Technology Officer

Location: Clara Rosa Hospital, Utawala

Job Summary

Clara Rosa Hospital Utawala is seeking a qualified and experienced Health Records and Information Technology Officer to manage and maintain patient records, ensure accurate data entry and reporting, and support the use of health information systems. The ideal candidate will be proficient in HMIS systems and digital platforms such as SMART & M-Tiba, and possess thorough knowledge of SHA/SHIF documentation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain accurate patient health records in accordance with hospital policies and legal standards.
• Operate and support Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) including SMART and M-Tiba platforms.
• Ensure proper documentation and processing of SHA/SHIF claims and related documentation.
• Compile and generate routine reports on health data, patient statistics, and system usage.
• Train and support hospital staff on proper use of HMIS systems and data entry procedures.
• Safeguard patient confidentiality and data security at all times.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to improve data quality and workflow efficiency.
• Participate in regular audits and data verification exercises.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma in Health Records and Information Technology from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in HMIS systems, SMART Platform, and M-Tiba Platform.
• Knowledge of SHA/SHIF documentation requirements and procedures.
• At least 4 years of relevant work experience in a health records environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work under minimal supervision.
