Job Description

Role Overview

This senior leadership position owns the in-country affluent clients strategy, driving commercial growth and market leadership by delivering a differentiated experience for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients. Day to day, you will lead cross-functional teams to execute client acquisition, relationship deepening, and digital transformation initiatives that create sustainable value. Your work directly shapes the organization's competitive position and long-term profitability in the wealth management space.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the country-level affluent client strategy, setting clear objectives for client acquisition, retention, and asset growth.
  • Lead the design and execution of seamless, omnichannel client journeys that enhance engagement and satisfaction for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives, leveraging emerging technologies to improve service delivery and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with product, segment, and market leaders to ensure a cohesive affluent value proposition across banking, wealth, investment, lending, and advisory services.
  • Build and nurture strategic networks and partnerships to attract new affluent clients and expand market presence.
  • Oversee the preparation, evaluation, and approval of complex credit and lending transactions, ensuring robust risk management and governance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of client-centricity, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions and maintain market leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • First degree in Business Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous, and Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) certification is preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in private banking and wealth management, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, with a proven track record of leading client acquisition, sales, service, and relationship management for high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.
  • Demonstrated success in growing assets under management, increasing market share, and delivering sustainable revenue and profitability targets.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen, with the ability to interpret market trends, assess risks, and make strategic decisions that benefit both clients and the business.
  • Experience preparing, evaluating, and advocating for complex credit applications, with a solid grasp of credit risk management and governance.
  • Deep knowledge of banking, wealth management, investment, lending, fiduciary, and advisory products, and the ability to craft holistic financial solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Proven leadership in developing high-performing teams and fostering a culture of client-centricity, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Recognized as a transformational leader with a track record of driving organizational change, digital adoption, and business transformation.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends, regulatory requirements, emerging technologies, and the evolving wealth management landscape.
  • Experience operating at a senior leadership level, influencing stakeholders, building strategic partnerships, and executing across functions and markets.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution to deliver growth priorities and long-term sustainability.
