Role Overview
This is a senior leadership role for someone who will own the entire technology and digital agenda across a fast-scaling, operations-heavy aquaculture group. Day to day, you'll move between shaping long-term strategy and rolling up your sleeves to unblock systems, data, or adoption problems in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, and the Netherlands. The work matters because the company's growth depends on reliable biological data, automated processes, and a single source of truth that leaders at every level can actually trust.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the group-wide digital transformation roadmap, prioritising initiatives where technology, automation, and data can materially change how the business operates.
- Lead the full lifecycle of enterprise platforms — including ERPNext, Snowflake, Power BI, and Microsoft 365 — from strategy and governance to continuous improvement and user adoption.
- Develop and govern the Aqua Digital Ecosystem that supports the entire aquaculture value chain, covering biomass management, feeding and FCR, survival monitoring, harvest planning, production forecasting, and smart farming technologies.
- Establish a single, trusted source of truth for group data, define KPI governance and reporting standards, and drive practical adoption of analytics, AI, and automation across teams.
- Take overall accountability for ICT, cybersecurity, technology risk, data governance, software licensing, business continuity, and disaster recovery — working through the Group ICT & Security Lead.
- Build and lead a multidisciplinary function spanning enterprise systems, data and analytics, business intelligence, ICT, transformation, and innovation, while partnering closely with Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, and Country Leadership.
- Within the first 24 months, strengthen ERPNext governance and adoption, reduce spreadsheet dependency, improve biological and operational data quality, and deliver measurable AI and automation use cases.
Requirements & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in digital transformation, business technology, enterprise systems, or a related field, with substantial time spent in operationally intensive environments.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field; a Master's degree is strongly preferred.
- A strategic mindset combined with a hands-on, operational approach — you're comfortable being in the details when needed.
- Proven ability to translate real business challenges into practical digital solutions that people actually use.
- Demonstrated experience leading digital transformation in industries where operations, field teams, and complex supply chains are central to success.
- Strong people leadership, with a track record of hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
