Job Description

Role Overview

As a Graduate Trainee in Human Resources, you will rotate through core HR functions—operations, talent acquisition, and employee engagement—gaining hands-on exposure to the full employee lifecycle. You will support day-to-day HR administration, help attract and screen candidates for open roles, and contribute to initiatives that keep teams connected and motivated. This role is designed to build your foundational HR expertise while directly supporting the business’s talent needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update employee records in the HR information system, ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Assist with the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job adverts, posting on relevant platforms, screening CVs, and coordinating interview schedules.
  • Support the onboarding of new hires by preparing paperwork, organising induction sessions, and liaising with IT and facilities for workstation setup.
  • Help design and distribute employee engagement surveys, then compile feedback into actionable summaries for the HR team.
  • Coordinate and promote internal events such as team-building activities, wellness workshops, and recognition programmes.
  • Respond to basic employee queries regarding leave, policy, and benefits, escalating more complex issues to senior HR team members.
  • Contribute to talent acquisition reporting by tracking recruitment metrics (time-to-hire, source effectiveness) and maintaining candidate pipelines.
  • Participate in ad‑hoc HR projects, such as updating the employee handbook, improving onboarding materials, or refreshing the company’s careers page.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Recent graduate (within the last 12 months) with a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Strong interest in building a career in HR, with a willingness to learn across operations, recruitment, and employee engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally at all levels.
  • Highly organised and detail‑oriented, capable of managing multiple administrative tasks and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with HR software or applicant tracking systems is a plus.
  • Proactive and collaborative mindset, comfortable working both independently and as part of a small team.
  • Previous internship or volunteer experience in an office or people‑focused environment is advantageous but not essential.

What We Offer / Why Join

This role is designed to provide broad, practical HR exposure early in your career. You will receive on‑the‑job mentoring and structured rotation across key HR functions, giving you a strong foundation for future specialisation. The role offers clear progression opportunities and the chance to contribute to real business outcomes from day one.
