Description:
We are currently hiring a skilled and detail-focused General Accountant / Accountant to join our team in Abu Dhabi. This role is best suited for professionals with a solid background in the construction or engineering industry and a proven track record of handling accounting operations within the UAE market. Candidates must already be based in the UAE and available to join immediately.
The selected accountant will play a key role in managing financial accuracy, compliance, and coordination with internal project teams while ensuring adherence to local tax and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project costs, control budgets, and ensure financial discipline across operations.
- Prepare accurate financial reports, statements, and account reconciliations.
- Coordinate closely with project managers and site teams on financial matters.
- Manage VAT filing, related documentation, and ongoing compliance activities.
- Ensure full compliance with UAE Corporate Tax regulations and reporting standards.
- Liaise with the Federal Tax Authority (FTA) for submissions, audits, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with attested certificates.
- At least five (5) years of hands-on UAE experience within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong working knowledge of VAT laws, FTA regulations, and UAE Corporate Tax.
- Proven experience in cost accounting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Arabic language proficiency is mandatory.
- Experience using ERP systems such as QuickBooks or similar platforms is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to successfully pass a written accounting assessment.
Additional Information:
- Immediate availability is highly preferred.
- Candidates must currently be residing in the UAE.
