Job Title: Field Auditor - Food Safety & Hygiene
Salary: Ksh 20,000 (Entry Level)
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Field Auditor to join Hychem Hygiene and Healthcare Solutions Ltd. This role combines technical auditing, customer training, and commercial sales activities. You will ensure client sites comply with food safety standards, educate customer staff on chemical applications, and identify opportunities to grow account value through upselling and cross-selling. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with a strong sales-driven attitude and a passion for hygiene excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Training & Product Application
- Educate customer staff on correct chemical applications and accurate solution dilution/constitution methods.
- Conduct mandatory training on chemical safety, hazard awareness, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assess and log trainee knowledge to ensure practical compliance on the shop floor.
Audit Execution & Reporting
- Execute site audits strictly according to established schedules, ensuring zero missed dates or timing windows.
- Record factual field observations honestly, objectively, and backed by evidence, resisting any external bias.
- Generate and distribute comprehensive audit reports within tight timelines (e.g., 24–48 hours post-visit).
- Track, follow up on, and formally close out all identified major and minor corrective actions with the client.
Sales Activities & Account Value Growth
- Actively pitch and introduce new Hychem Hygiene and Healthcare Solutions Ltd. product lines, specialized cleaning tools, or dispensing equipment to existing clients based on audit needs.
- Audit stock rooms to ensure 100% exclusivity; instantly challenge competitive product presence and pitch the equivalent Hychem solution to win back account share.
- Meet or exceed designated field sales targets through account retention, consumption monitoring, and organic upselling.
Compliance & Documentation
- Audit customer documentation to ensure current Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) are printed, filed, and easily accessible for internal or external auditors.
- Enforce local and international food safety standards and cleaning hygiene compliance without compromise.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Certifications & Training
- Formally certified in Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles.
- Comprehensive and verified Food Safety training (e.g., ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or equivalent global standards).
Experience
- Entry-Level Focus: Open to Fresh Graduates or candidates with up to 2 years of experience in food manufacturing, hospitality hygiene, quality assurance, or auditing environments.
- Commercial Mindset: Must exhibit a strong sales-driven attitude with the capability to identify commercial opportunities, upsell products, and cross-sell solutions during routine customer interactions.

- Sales Growth & Exclusivity: Percentage increase in account revenue and maintenance of 100% product exclusivity at client sites.
- Audit Schedule Compliance: 100% adherence to planned audit dates and timelines.
- Reporting Turnaround: Audit reports delivered to stakeholders within the agreed-upon 24–48 hour window.
- On-Site Documentation: 100% of assigned client sites maintaining accessible, up-to-date SDS/TDS binders.
- Action Closure Rate: Percentage of major and minor non-conformances successfully closed within deadlines.
