Role Overview
As a Financial Advisor with Prudential Kenya, you will work on-site in Nairobi County, meeting clients to understand their financial circumstances, aspirations, and concerns. Your day-to-day focus is on creating practical, personalised plans that address protection, investment growth, and long-term retirement needs, then helping clients implement and adjust those plans as their lives evolve. This role matters because it turns financial complexity into clear, actionable steps for clients while supporting Prudential Kenya's commitment to delivering reliable, compliant financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth client meetings to gather information on income, expenditure, existing policies, assets, and future commitments.
- Perform comprehensive financial analysis and risk assessments to identify gaps and opportunities in clients' current financial arrangements.
- Develop tailored proposals covering insurance protection, investment solutions, and retirement planning strategies that align with each client's goals and risk tolerance.
- Present recommendations clearly to clients, explaining product features, fees, benefits, and potential outcomes to support informed decision-making.
- Maintain regular contact with existing clients to review plan performance, update personal circumstances, and recommend adjustments where needed.
- Track the ongoing status of recommended products, handle policy servicing inquiries, and ensure all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Collaborate with internal teams such as underwriting, claims, and customer service to resolve issues and improve the client experience.
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through referrals, networking, and community engagement, while meeting individual performance targets.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven ability in financial planning and advisory work, including assessing client needs and designing cohesive financial strategies.
- Strong understanding of finance, investment principles, and product structures to communicate complex ideas in accessible language.
- Practical knowledge of retirement planning concepts, including tax-efficient savings, income drawdown, and long-term wealth preservation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities for building trust and managing long-term client relationships.
- Unwavering commitment to ethical conduct, client confidentiality, and compliance with regulatory and company policies.
- Demonstrated capacity to work towards targets, prioritise tasks, and handle multiple client engagements simultaneously.
- Proficiency with standard office software and comfort using digital tools for client management, financial analysis, and reporting.
- A diploma or degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications in financial planning or advisory services are an added advantage.
- Prior experience in a client-facing financial services role is preferred but not mandatory for candidates with strong analytical and communication skills.
