Role Overview

This internship offers recent Kenyan graduates a structured entry into the financial services and deposit protection sector. As an intern, you will be embedded within one of our operational departments, supporting day-to-day workflows such as data handling, document verification, and stakeholder correspondence, while gaining first-hand exposure to how deposit insurance and bank resolution functions are delivered. Your contribution matters because the internship programme exists to build a pipeline of skilled, disciplined professionals who can support the corporation's mandate of protecting depositors and stabilising the financial system.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in compiling and organising financial and administrative records to support departmental reporting and audit preparedness.
• Support the verification of claims-related documentation and help maintain accurate case files for insured deposits.
• Carry out data entry, data cleaning, and reconciliation tasks using spreadsheets and internal information systems.
• Conduct targeted research on banking or deposit insurance topics and summarise findings for review by supervisors.
• Draft routine correspondence, memos, and meeting minutes, ensuring clarity and compliance with organisational standards.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to assigned project tasks under the guidance of experienced officers.
• Assist in monitoring regulatory and compliance updates and flagging matters relevant to the corporation's operations.
• Perform any other administrative or technical duties allocated by mentors to support the achievement of departmental objectives.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Be a Kenyan citizen currently unemployed and a graduate of a recognised training institution in Kenya.
• Hold a bachelor's degree or diploma from a programme completed within the last three years as at the application deadline.
• Have no prior work experience directly related to your area of study (relevant internships, attachments, or formal employment will make you ineligible).
• Not be retired or formally exited from employment, and not have previously benefited from a similar government or corporate internship programme.
• Provide proof of academic qualification through copies of degree or diploma certificates or official academic transcripts.
• Produce a copy of your national identification card and an up-to-date curriculum vitae.
• Secure a valid personal medical insurance cover (SHIF or another reputable medical insurer) for the full internship duration before resuming.
• Register with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) and accept payroll deductions for contributions.
• Obtain a valid Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation.
• Secure a personal accident insurance policy valid for the internship period.
• Possess a Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) PIN certificate.
