Role Overview
This position takes full ownership of the physical workplace at a single site, making sure every building, utility, and support service runs without interrupting production or daily activity. You will be the go-to person for everything from cleaning and catering to contractor performance and regulatory compliance, balancing day-to-day operational needs with longer-term reliability and cost control. The role matters because it directly protects business continuity, keeps the site safe, and helps every team work in an environment that meets legal and corporate standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all facility operations on site, including buildings, utilities, cleaning, catering, security, pest control, and grounds maintenance, ensuring everything is functional and presentable at all times.
- Deliver hands-on operational leadership by conducting daily Gemba walks to spot issues early, track user complaints, and ensure quick resolution with clear follow-through.
- Manage planned and reactive maintenance schedules so that disruptions are minimal, completion rates stay high, and assets remain reliable throughout their lifecycle.
- Hold external contractors and service providers accountable to SLAs, safety rules, and site procedures; conduct regular performance reviews and drive corrective actions when standards slip.
- Handle the full administrative cycle for facilities procurement, including raising purchase orders, service requests, and GRNs, while monitoring vendor invoices to keep payments current and compliant.
- Enforce EHS and statutory compliance through routine safety inspections, risk assessments, fire safety checks, and incident investigations, then implement fixes that prevent recurrence.
- Take charge of the facilities asset register, preventive maintenance programs, and minor capital projects such as refurbishments or infrastructure upgrades.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external authorities to align facility services with operational needs, support company events, and maintain smooth stakeholder relationships.
Requirements & Qualifications
- STEM-related degree in engineering, facilities management, spatial planning, or a comparable discipline.
- At least 3–5 years of hands-on experience in facilities management or operations management within a fast-paced industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven track record of managing contractors, third-party service providers, and vendor performance, including contract negotiation and SLA enforcement.
- Strong working knowledge of EHS regulations, building codes, occupational health requirements, and fire safety standards.
- Familiarity with Integrated Work Systems (IWS) principles and structured problem-solving tools; experience using data to drive reliability and cost improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to manage OPEX budgets, track consumables and spares, identify cost-saving opportunities, and support CAPEX planning.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, including shop-floor staff, senior leadership, and external agencies.
- A proactive, compliance-driven mindset with zero tolerance for safety breaches and a strong sense of personal ownership and accountability.
