Job Description

Role Overview

As the External Relations Officer for the Makueni Agrihub, you will serve as a key link between Eni Natural Energies Kenya EPZ Ltd. (ENEK) and a wide range of external partners, including government bodies, county officials, community groups, and non-governmental organisations. Your daily work will involve coordinating engagement activities, managing public information, and keeping stakeholder records up to date so that ENEK’s initiatives proceed smoothly and in line with local regulations and company standards. By fostering trust and open communication, you will help ensure that the company’s operations in Makueni are well understood and supported by the communities and authorities they affect.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and sustain relationships with stakeholders, ensure regulatory compliance, and act as focal point for partner relations and community liaison.
  • Coordinate stakeholder meetings, prepare materials, maintain communication logs, and organise regular briefings and bilateral meetings.
  • Collaborate with local communities to support efficient and timely project implementation.
  • Collect, organise, and maintain stakeholder communications data; support monitoring, reporting, and database updates.
  • Draft reports and presentations by compiling information and ensuring document accuracy.
  • Assist in organising training sessions, including logistics, invitations, and follow-up communications.
  • Stay informed on current affairs and gather updates from public authorities that may affect ENEK’s business and projects.
  • Assist in planning and implementing communication strategies that promote external support for ENEK’s operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Communications, or a closely related field.
  • Hands-on experience in external relations, communications, community development, stakeholder engagement, or administrative coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver clear reports and presentations.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a sharp eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the capacity to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and stakeholder backgrounds.
  • Experience collaborating within diverse teams and adapting to shifting priorities and environments.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, including public presentation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
