Role Overview

As Transport Executor, you turn customer demand, fleet availability, and delivery commitments into workable daily transport plans. You stay close to dispatch, drivers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve disruptions quickly, protect service levels, and keep costs under control. The role is central to a fast-moving FMCG operation because reliable transport execution is what allows the business to meet its delivery promises.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate customer demand and delivery commitments into optimised route plans for the dedicated fleet, keeping the customer-to-route database current.
• Reassign customers and orders across routes when volumes, service priorities, or road conditions require a change.
• Work with dispatch, drivers, carriers, and logistics partners to confirm that every movement is assigned, briefed, and completed as planned.
• Act as a first point of resolution for transport disruptions, whether they involve delays, route amendments, equipment issues, or unexpected operational constraints.
• Keep trip sheets, daily allocation sheets, proof-of-delivery records, and reporting inputs complete, accurate, and submitted on time.
• Track transport KPIs such as on-time delivery, cost per movement, and fleet productivity; analyse the numbers and recommend practical improvements.
• Support contract and rate discussions with carriers and service providers, protecting service quality while controlling cost.
• Reinforce compliance with transport regulations, safety practices, and standard operating procedures, including checking GPS units remain serviceable and keeping work areas tidy and safe.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in transportation operations, with a focus on execution and coordination.
• Confidence using transportation management systems (TMS) and route optimisation tools.
• Working knowledge of transport regulations, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a large transport network in near real time.
• Clear verbal and written communication, including the ability to present a case and persuade others.
• Analytical approach: able to review performance results, identify findings, and report them accurately.
• Effective problem-solving and relationship-building skills across drivers, carriers, internal teams, and management levels in an FMCG environment.
