Engineering Intern

Role Overview

This internship places recent graduates directly inside a working aviation environment, where you take on genuine assignments in the discipline you applied for instead of watching from the sidelines. Interns supply the teams around them with research, accurate documentation, and dependable day-to-day support, while gaining first-hand exposure to how a complex, safety-conscious industry actually operates. The work matters because it converts academic training into practical output — the analyses, records, and recommendations you produce feed into decisions made by the people you support.

Key Responsibilities

• Own a defined set of tasks and short-term assignments within your functional area, delivering them accurately and on schedule.
• Carry out research and information gathering, then organise what you find into clear summaries, briefings, or reports for your supervisor and team.
• Support routine departmental activity such as maintaining records and files, preparing documents, tracking actions, and handling correspondence.
• Work alongside colleagues from other teams and disciplines, contributing to meetings and keeping others informed of progress on your work.
• Review data and existing processes for gaps, inconsistencies, or practical improvement opportunities, and present your findings with recommendations.
• Follow organisational policies, safety practices, and confidentiality expectations in everything you handle.
• Actively seek feedback and coaching, and apply it quickly so that the quality and independence of your work keeps improving.
• Close out the placement by preparing and presenting a summary of your projects, results, and what you learned to the wider team.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A university degree awarded within the last four years.
• The degree must be relevant to the specific area of internship you are applying for.
• Additional professional qualifications, certifications, or specialised training connected to that discipline are an added advantage.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to write clearly and explain your work confidently to different audiences.
• Demonstrated teamwork — a track record of collaborating well, sharing information, and contributing to a group's results.
• Learning agility: the capacity to pick up unfamiliar systems, terminology, and processes quickly and to act on direction.
• Professionalism and reliability in how you manage your time, commitments, and sensitive information.
• A demonstrated interest in the aviation industry — through coursework, projects, memberships, volunteering, or independent study — is an advantage.
