Strategic Objectives

We are seeking a highly skilled and EBK-registered Electrical Engineer to anchor our technical operations in Westlands. Your mandate is to oversee the entire lifecycle of our electrical infrastructure—from the initial design and review of complex schematics to the hands-on supervision of installations and system commissioning. You will act as the technical authority on-site, ensuring that all power systems, generators, and control panels operate at peak efficiency while adhering to international safety standards. This role requires a blend of strategic project management and deep technical troubleshooting to minimize downtime and optimize energy consumption across our facilities.

Technical Workstreams

Infrastructure Design & Execution

• Design and supervise the installation of robust electrical systems, ensuring strict adherence to engineering blueprints and project specifications.

• Review and validate technical drawings, electrical layouts, and schematics for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

• Lead the testing and commissioning phases of new installations to ensure seamless integration with existing grids.

• Manage electrical upgrades and expansion projects, coordinating with contractors to meet strict deadlines and budget constraints.

Maintenance Strategy & Reliability

• Engineer and execute comprehensive preventive maintenance programs for transformers, motors, and high-voltage panels.

• Provide rapid-response diagnosis and resolution for critical system failures, breakdowns, and electrical faults.

• Monitor real-time equipment performance, implementing modifications to enhance system reliability and energy efficiency.

• Maintain a digitized repository of technical reports, inspection logs, and maintenance history.

Compliance, Safety & Leadership

• Ensure every aspect of electrical work aligns with EBK regulations and Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) requirements.

• Conduct recurring risk assessments and inspections to mitigate electrical hazards and promote a zero-accident workplace.

• Supervise and mentor junior technical personnel and external contractors, fostering a culture of high performance and accountability.

• Drive sustainability initiatives by implementing energy conservation protocols and modernizing aging infrastructure.

Expertise Profile

The Essentials

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

• Credential: Must be a Registered Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK).

• Domain Expertise: Minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in electrical installations, fault diagnosis, and maintenance.

• Sector Background: Experience within industrial, large-scale commercial, or manufacturing environments is highly desirable.

Required Competencies

• Analytical Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot complex control systems and power distribution issues under pressure.

• Project Management: Proven track record of managing engineering projects from planning through to completion.

• Leadership: Strong capability in supervising technical teams and managing diverse stakeholder relationships.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of local and international electrical engineering standards and safety codes.
