Role Overview
As an Early Years Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for preschool children. You will work closely with a supportive team to foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment where each child can thrive. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep commitment to early childhood education, and the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement creative, play-based lessons that align with the school’s curriculum and educational philosophy.
- Create a warm, welcoming classroom atmosphere that supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Observe, assess, and document each child’s progress, using insights to tailor instruction and communicate with parents.
- Foster positive behaviour and guide children in developing self-regulation, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to maintain a cohesive, high-quality early years programme.
- Engage parents and caregivers as partners in their child’s learning journey through regular updates and meetings.
- Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards are always upheld.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or equivalent diploma).
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience teaching in an early years setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and best practices in early childhood education.
- Proven leadership abilities and the capacity to mentor and collaborate with others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and approachable demeanour.
- Passion for inspiring young learners and a genuine commitment to excellence.
- Registration with the relevant teaching council (if applicable) is an added advantage.
