Role Overview
You will be the operational link between the warehouse and event sites, making sure every piece of equipment leaves on time, arrives safely, and returns in good condition. Your day‑to‑day work involves coordinating load schedules, checking gear in and out, and helping the team stay on track during busy event periods. This position matters because a smooth dispatch flow directly impacts client satisfaction and keeps the company’s equipment inventory accurate and ready for the next job.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare outgoing equipment orders, verify quantities, and complete dispatch paperwork before each event
- Load and unload event equipment safely, securing items to prevent damage during transit
- Receive returned equipment, inspect for damage or missing parts, and update inventory records
- Communicate with drivers, warehouse staff, and project coordinators to confirm delivery and collection timings
- Maintain a clean, organised dispatch area and keep stock in clearly labelled locations
- Report any discrepancies, delays, or equipment issues to the supervisor promptly
- Assist with periodic stock counts and cycle checks as needed
- Follow all safety procedures during handling and driving of equipment within the yard
Requirements & Qualifications
- Minimum KCSE certificate or an equivalent educational qualification
- Previous experience in dispatch, stores, warehouse, or logistics is an advantage – training can be given to the right candidate
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling, including lifting, carrying, and loading heavy items repeatedly
- Strong organisational ability and a keen eye for detail when checking equipment and completing paperwork
- Honest, reliable, and capable of working without constant supervision
- Willingness to work weekends and extended hours when events demand it
