Role Overview
As a Customs Clearance Clerk based in JAFZA, Dubai, you will process shipment entries, keep clearance documents in order and coordinate with transport teams to move cargo through the clearance process. Your work will help land freight shipments progress on time while meeting UAE customs requirements and maintaining reliable shipment records.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare customs paperwork and submit Bills of Entry for import and export shipments.
- Use Dubai Trade and other relevant systems to complete clearance transactions and check shipment progress.
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness, following up on missing or inconsistent information.
- Coordinate with transport teams on cargo collection, movement and delivery schedules.
- Monitor land freight shipments and communicate updates or delays to the relevant parties.
- Maintain organised clearance and shipment records to support operational tracking and compliance.
- Work with colleagues and logistics contacts to resolve routine issues that could hold up cargo clearance.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Previous UAE experience in customs clearance is essential.
- Practical experience preparing and passing Bills of Entry.
- Working knowledge of Dubai Trade and customs clearance procedures in the UAE.
- Experience with land freight operations and transport coordination.
- Understanding of shipment documentation, tracking and logistics workflows.
- Clear communication, coordination and record-keeping skills.
