Job Description

Role Overview

We are assembling a bench of reliable culinary professionals who can step into a range of kitchen positions as Pili Restaurant expands. Depending on your experience and the needs of the service, you will support food preparation, run stations, and maintain the quality and pace that define our kitchen. This role matters because having skilled, adaptable cooks ready to grow with us allows the restaurant to keep service seamless while we build out the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients and cook dishes according to established recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Manage your assigned station during service, maintaining speed, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control.
  • Keep your workstation and the broader kitchen clean, organized, and ready for the next shift.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and rotating stock to minimize waste and ensure ingredient freshness.
  • Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow cooks to keep tickets moving and resolve issues quickly.
  • Cross-train and support other stations as needed, stepping in wherever the kitchen requires additional help.
  • Uphold a positive, professional, and respectful work culture during busy service.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in a professional kitchen, preferably in prep, line, or short-order cooking.
  • Solid working knowledge of basic culinary techniques, knife skills, and kitchen equipment.
  • Familiarity with food safety principles; a current food handler certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as the restaurant schedule requires.
  • Comfortable standing for long periods, lifting heavy items, and working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
  • A team-first attitude with the flexibility to adapt to changing responsibilities as the restaurant grows.
