Role Overview
This role carries the growth and retention mandate for a defined insurance product portfolio, focusing on new business acquisition through assigned distribution routes and customer segments. The jobholder works closely with intermediaries, partners, and internal teams to turn strategy into sales activity, strengthen partner capability, and keep existing policies and accounts profitable. Success is measured by meeting agreed commercial, income, and retention goals while maintaining a healthy pipeline and a strong customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate assigned strategic priorities into practical sales actions and execute them across the designated channels, markets, and product portfolio.
- Act as the main relationship contact for assigned intermediaries and partners, keeping communication consistent and addressing product, process, and market queries.
- Deliver regular training to intermediaries on insurance products, target customer segments, underwriting guidelines, and operational procedures so they can sell and service confidently.
- Support partners with prospecting momentum, including joint client meetings, presentations, proposal preparation, and assistance through to closing.
- Maintain a live new business pipeline, track conversion and retention activity, and provide weekly pipeline updates and monthly personal performance reports.
- Drive acquisition of new policies and accounts, protect and grow existing business, and identify cross-sell or up-sell opportunities in collaboration with other business development teams.
- Increase the number and productivity of intermediaries actively selling the assigned products by promoting approved sales campaigns and incentives and helping ensure commission and reward payments are settled completely and promptly.
- Contribute to departmental strategy and operational planning, support new product introductions, monitor competitor and market developments, and operate within company policies and delegated authority limits.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in a business-related discipline.
- Professional insurance qualification such as CoP, ACII, or IIK.
- Two to four years of relevant experience in the insurance industry.
- Working knowledge of insurance regulations and compliance expectations.
- Solid understanding of insurance products and how they are positioned, sold, and serviced through intermediaries.
- Sales and marketing management skills, including pipeline management, partner development, and performance reporting.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with intermediaries, partners, clients, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong communication, presentation, training, and negotiation skills to support intermediaries through the sales cycle.
