Container Supervisor

Role Overview

The Inventory Supervisor keeps LPG cylinder operations running accurately and safely from open to close. This role owns the daily reconciliation of empty and filled cylinder stock, oversees loading and offloading activities, and makes sure delivery assets are road-ready before they leave the depot. By maintaining tight inventory control and enforcing HSE and SOP standards, the position directly protects product availability, staff safety, and customer service reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out start-of-day and end-of-day counts, plus physical stocktakes of empty and filled cylinders, returned market stock, and accessories; investigate and resolve count discrepancies and track inventory levels to avoid shortages.
• Supervise the loading and offloading of gas cylinders and related assets, ensuring correct stacking techniques are followed in line with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Inspect delivery vehicles and associated equipment before and after market runs, confirming roadworthiness and that all required accessories are present and functional.
• Build and manage shift rosters, leave plans, and overtime for loaders; monitor attendance and discipline for Direct Sales Agents, loaders, and security staff.
• Enforce Standard Operating Procedures across the container yard, maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, issue and safeguard fuel cards, and ensure the facility opens and closes on schedule.
• Conduct weekly audits of the container premises, stock holdings, and equipment; escalate operational non-conformities, safety breaches, or security issues to the relevant Heads of Department without delay.

Requirements & Qualifications

• College Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience as an inventory supervisor, specifically within the LPG sector.
• Fluent written and spoken English and Kiswahili.
• Strong computer literacy, including comfort with inventory tracking systems and standard office software.
• Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
