Job Description

Role Overview

This role sits at the heart of the organisation’s ethics and compliance framework. Day to day, you will receive and triage incoming complaints, design investigation strategies, and lead fact-gathering conversations with complainants, witnesses, and subjects of concern. Your work directly shapes the integrity of programme delivery by turning raw reports into actionable, evidence-based recommendations that close compliance gaps and reinforce a culture of accountability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate incoming complaints to decide the correct handling path and urgency level.
  • Create investigation plans, draft witness statements, and assemble supporting documentation for each case.
  • Conduct structured interviews following defined protocols to collect reliable testimony.
  • Identify, gather, and examine potential evidence to build a clear understanding of each allegation.
  • Write thorough investigation reports that present findings, conclusions, and practical recommendations.
  • Track the execution of corrective actions and follow up with relevant teams to confirm they are implemented.
  • Partner with departments to review systems and procedures, highlighting areas where compliance may be weak.
  • Monitor risk-reduction measures and provide progress updates to stakeholders.
  • Support audit processes by coordinating timely responses and helping teams meet compliance requirements.
  • Facilitate training sessions designed to embed ethical behaviour and reporting expectations across the organisation.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science such as criminal justice, criminology, sociology, law, or finance.
  • At least five years of professional experience, with substantial exposure to investigations, compliance, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse data and distil it into clear, decision-ready information.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills, paired with the capacity to communicate accurately and quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in both English and Kiswahili.
  • Proven analytical, presentation, and reporting capabilities.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift frequently.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative without close supervision.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High level of personal integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of urgency.
  • Commitment to the mission, purpose, and values of the organisation.
