Job Title: Community Oral Health Officer

Job Summary

The Community Oral Health Officer is responsible for providing high-quality dental care services to patients while observing the scope and acceptable standards of operation. The officer diagnoses and treats various oral health conditions, offers preventive dental services, and educates patients on oral hygiene practices. This role is critical in promoting oral health and ensuring patients receive quality dental care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of oral health conditions
  • Provide preventive dental services and oral hygiene education to patients
  • Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and patient safety guidelines
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation
  • Collaborate with the dental team to deliver integrated care

Academic Qualifications

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health
  • Valid license from the Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK) or Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
  • Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience

Desirable Competencies

  • Proficient in computer applications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong clinical skills and in-depth knowledge of dental hygiene and oral health
