Role Overview
This position sits within Citi's client onboarding operation, where you'll handle the administrative and regulatory steps that get new accounts and relationships up and running. Day to day, you'll process client documentation, update account systems, answer queries from both clients and internal colleagues, and make sure everything follows current banking rules. Your accuracy and attention to detail directly affect whether onboarding runs smoothly and whether clients trust the bank from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Process client requests for system setup, signatory changes, and submission of required documents.
- Work with internal partners to update and maintain account systems based on account opening and maintenance documentation.
- Respond to client and internal queries in a clear, professional, and timely manner.
- Apply applicable banking regulations and internal procedures when handling each request, and keep current with policy changes.
- Verify and authorize data entered into systems, ensuring high accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Escalate urgent or risk-related issues through the proper channels, and report control concerns transparently.
- Assist with quality assurance, process improvement projects, and user acceptance testing for new systems.
- Support other team members as needed, including participating in training, conference calls, and system testing.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Prior experience in financial services is preferred, but this is suited to a trainee or early-career professional.
- Familiarity with bank products, particularly around opening and maintaining bank accounts.
- Customer communication experience, whether with external clients or internal stakeholders.
- Good working knowledge of finance and banking concepts, plus a willingness to learn procedures quickly.
- Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach.
- Proficient PC skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks.
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
