Role Overview
This is a hands-on executive leadership position steering an Agri-Tech company that builds digital marketplaces, financing mechanisms, and support services for agricultural stakeholders. You will set the strategic direction, oversee day-to-day operations across all functions, and work directly with the Board, investors, and institutional partners to scale the business profitably. Your decisions will directly shape how farmers and buyers connect, transact, and grow within an evolving digital agricultural ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the company’s long-range vision and strategy, translating it into a practical roadmap that drives market expansion and measurable growth.
- Lead revenue generation efforts by identifying new customer segments, geographic markets, and partnership opportunities within the agricultural value chain.
- Oversee the design, launch, and continuous improvement of digital marketplace products, financing tools, and value-added services to ensure they meet real user needs.
- Manage operational execution across all departments, setting clear performance benchmarks and intervening when delivery falters.
- Take charge of financial planning, budgeting, and capital allocation, while keeping the Board informed through regular performance and risk reports.
- Build and mentor a senior leadership team, fostering a workplace culture where accountability, collaboration, and innovation are the norm.
- Serve as the company’s primary representative with regulators, government agencies, financial institutions, development partners, and the press, protecting and promoting the brand.
- Establish and enforce corporate governance, legal compliance, and risk management frameworks that safeguard the company’s assets and reputation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Finance, Economics, Technology, or a related discipline; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate degree is a strong advantage.
- At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including a minimum of 5 years in a senior executive role (CEO, COO, GM, or similar).
- Proven experience in agribusiness, Agri-Tech, digital platforms, financial services, supply chain management, or another closely related industry.
- A demonstrated track record of growing revenue, executing strategic initiatives, raising capital, and managing relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, investor reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Exceptional people leadership skills, with the ability to hire senior talent, develop succession plans, and drive employee engagement.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, suited for Board-level reporting and high-stakes partnership discussions.
- Professional certification in leadership, finance, or corporate governance is desirable but not mandatory.
