Gross Salary Structure: Kshs. 65,000 – 70,000

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly driven, commercially astute Business Development Manager to accelerate corporate client acquisition and expand our market share within the industrial cleaning chemicals and hygiene solutions sector in Nairobi. Your primary objective is to target, pitch, and secure long-term supply agreements with high-value corporate accounts, distributors, and institutional buyers. This position bridges high-level commercial strategy with hands-on field execution; you will map out seasonal growth frameworks, manage high-stakes contract negotiations, and analyze local market pricing structures to keep our brand highly competitive. The role demands an ambitious, target-anchored closer with a deep background in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or industrial manufacturing who can scale accounts independently and protect company margins.
Role Overview
Strategic Growth & Corporate Acquisition
- Formulate and execute comprehensive business development strategies designed to expand commercial sales volume and achieve deep market penetration across Nairobi.
- Pinpoint, map, and pursue unexploited industrial market segments, hospitality accounts, corporate facilities, and distribution networks.
- Draft, propose, and deploy agile sales growth frameworks that directly support the company's broader annual revenue goals.
Portfolio Cultivation & Contract Closing
- Build, insulate, and leverage strong institutional relationships with corporate procurement officers, commercial distributors, and key retail accounts.
- Audit current client usage patterns to implement strategic cross-selling and upselling initiatives for premium chemical lines and sanitation tools.
- Guide field teams through complex commercial negotiations, directly overseeing the final closing loops of high-volume product supply tenders.
Market Intelligence & Competitor Tracking
- Conduct structured field market research to monitor emerging chemical manufacturing trends, client operational demands, and competitor activities.
- Trace local wholesale and retail pricing models, product positioning updates, and volume shifts to feed strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Turn raw market intelligence and distribution audits into clear, actionable business opportunities to help the firm capitalize on supply gaps.
Performance Auditing & Cross-Functional Alignment
- Evaluate individual and team business performance continuously against set weekly quotas, regional pipeline targets, and gross revenue goals.
- Compile precise revenue forecasts, qualified sales pipeline charts, and volume delivery summaries for weekly management review.
- Coordinate tightly with production chemists, warehouse logistics, and marketing teams to ensure client orders precisely match manufacturing timelines.
Skills & Experience Required
Minimum Entry Criteria
- Academic Foundation: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales Management, or a matching commercial discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional Qualifications: Supplementary certifications in Professional Sales, Strategic Marketing, or Account Management will be a clear asset.
- Industry Longevity: Minimum of 4 years of progressive, verified performance leading business development pipelines, commercial sales, or B2B marketing channels.
- Sector Familiarity: Proven field experience working within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), chemical production, industrial sanitation, or corporate manufacturing sectors is highly desirable.
Key Professional Attributes
- Commercial Fortitude: Outstanding capacity to cultivate corporate leads, pitch technical product lines, and close distribution agreements under fixed target limits.
- Negotiation Agility: Advanced verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven history of managing complex contracts with institutional buyers.
- Analytical Reasoning: Competent at breaking down competitor distribution patterns, assessing cost-per-liter variables, and preparing structured pipeline forecasts.
What We Offer
- Strategic Influence: Take absolute ownership of a valuable, growing chemical product portfolio with total autonomy over client acquisition paths.
- Comprehensive Network Exposure: Build a premium professional network by interacting directly with leading procurement executives, hospitality managers, and manufacturing operations across Nairobi.
- Professional Development: Advance your executive profile by managing complex multi-tier distribution channels, competitive market strategies, and large-scale industrial accounts.
