Job Title: Clinical Officer
Job Summary
Responsible for providing patient care by diagnosing and treating patients, providing preventive care, managing common medical and surgical conditions, participating in public health initiatives, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat patients in accordance with established medical protocols and clinical guidelines.
- Provide preventive care services and health education to patients and communities.
- Manage common medical and surgical conditions, including follow-up and referral when necessary.
- Participate in public health initiatives, campaigns, and outreach programs.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and institutional policies.
- Maintain accurate patient records and contribute to data entry, analysis, and report generation.
Qualifications
Academic & Professional
- BSc in Clinical Medicine and Surgery.
- Registered with the Clinical Officers Council and must possess a valid practicing license.
Experience
- At least one (1) year post-internship experience in either a public or private hospital.
- Over one (1) year of working experience ideally in a busy health facility.
- Knowledge of non-communicable diseases (NCD) management is key.
Certifications
- Certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
