Role Overview
This is a voluntary board-level position with the International Transformation Foundation (ITF), a youth-led non-profit focused on education, leadership, and entrepreneurship programs for young people. As a Technology & Systems board member, you will help guide the organisation’s strategic direction, ensure sound governance, and bring a technology-focused perspective to decisions that affect how ITF delivers its mission. Day to day, your involvement centres on attending board and committee meetings, reviewing organisational performance, and contributing to long-term planning and oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in board meetings and relevant committee meetings, reviewing agendas and supporting materials in advance to make informed contributions.
- Contribute to shaping ITF’s long-term and short-range strategies to ensure the organisation fulfils its mission effectively.
- Support the adoption of the annual budget and provide ongoing fiscal oversight to safeguard the organisation’s resources.
- Help hire, evaluate, and support the performance of the Secretary General as the chief staff role.
- Challenge and hold the Secretariat accountable for results, operational delivery, and alignment with organisational policies.
- Offer your technology and systems expertise to help ITF improve its internal operations, digital infrastructure, and data-driven decision-making.
- Act as an ambassador for ITF, promoting its mission, participating in fundraising activities, and leveraging your professional networks to create new opportunities.
- Strictly uphold conflict-of-interest and confidentiality policies in all board activities and decisions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Aged between 25 and 35 at the time of application.
- 2–5 years of professional work experience in technology, systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience leading a team or an organisation, preferably within a non-profit or youth-focused setting.
- A track record of personal and career achievements that demonstrate initiative, integrity, and the ability to inspire ethical behaviour.
- Experience in auditing, organisational investigation, or similar oversight functions is an advantage.
- Being a representative of one of ITF’s donor organisations or target communities is an added advantage.
- Access to professional or community networks that could support ITF’s growth, partnerships, or fundraising efforts.
