Description:

Instacart is seeking a detail-oriented BGC Compliance Specialist to support its Background Check Compliance team and help maintain a safe, secure, and reliable platform for customers and shoppers. This remote role focuses on compliance operations, background check reviews, issue resolution, and maintaining adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience handling sensitive information in a fast-paced environment. This position plays an important role in protecting platform integrity by investigating compliance issues, resolving escalations, and improving operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and adjudicate background checks accurately while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

• Investigate and resolve internal and external escalations related to background check processes.

• Identify onboarding issues, analyze root causes, and drive issues toward resolution.

• Maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive personal and compliance-related information.

• Perform operational tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.

• Identify process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and scalability.

• Support compliance initiatives that improve platform safety and reliability.

Requirements:

• 1–2+ years of professional experience, preferably in background checks, data processing, customer support, or similar fields.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing and dynamic operational environment.

• Strong decision-making skills when handling sensitive compliance matters.

• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

• Weekend and holiday availability required.

• Strong knowledge of:

• Background check processes and compliance procedures.

• Data review, investigation, and issue resolution.

• Customer support operations and confidential information handling.
