Role Overview

This role places you at the centre of daily bar and lounge operations in Kibwezi, taking full ownership of service flow, team coordination, and stock control from opening to closing. You will work directly on the floor during peak hours, ensure every drink reaches the customer promptly, and keep the atmosphere lively and compliant with local regulations. Your work matters because reliable bar management directly boosts repeat patronage, minimises product loss, and enables the venue to run profitably without constant oversight from the general manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead opening and closing procedures each shift, checking readiness of the bar area, equipment, and supplies before service begins.
• Assign tasks to bartenders and servers, monitor service speed, and step in to resolve bottlenecks during busy periods.
• Perform daily and weekly physical stock counts, reconcile them against point‑of‑sale reports, and investigate any discrepancies immediately.
• Inspect incoming deliveries for quantity, quality, and expiry dates, and update inventory records without delay.
• Oversee cash handling, till balancing, and mobile money collections at shift end, ensuring all transactions are accounted for and recorded.
• Develop shift rosters that match staffing levels with expected customer traffic, especially for weekends and holidays.
• Train team members on beverage preparation, upselling techniques, hygiene standards, and responsible alcohol service.
• Maintain compliance with national health codes and local liquor licensing requirements, keeping all required records up to date.

Requirements & Qualifications

• At least 2 years of active experience in bar operations, lounge supervision, or a similar hospitality leadership role.
• Certificate, diploma, or training in Hospitality Management, Food & Beverage Services, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
• Hands‑on experience with beverage inventory reconciliation, cash register procedures, and basic shift reporting.
• Ability to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts with high energy and consistent presence on the service floor.
• Proven ability to maintain team discipline and a focused service pace during fast‑paced, high‑volume periods.
• Strong interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills for handling diverse customer interactions and service complaints.
• Based in or willing to relocate to Kibwezi, Makueni County, and operate effectively in that location.
