Role Overview
As a Battery Swapping Executive, you are the face of the swap station: you take in depleted packs, put them on charge, and hand riders a ready-to-go battery so they can get back on the road without losing time. Every swap you complete, every fault you flag, and every shift report you file feeds directly into how reliably the station runs and how customers judge the service. It is a hands-on, customer-facing job where speed, safety discipline and clear communication matter as much as the technical side of charging batteries.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle battery exchanges at your assigned station, aiming to complete each swap in two minutes or less and keeping the queue moving.
- Welcome riders, explain how the swapping process works, and guide them through using the mobile app until they can transact on their own.
- Give first-line technical support to customers who run into problems with the app or with a swap.
- Pass customer complaints and escalations to your supervisor quickly so they can be resolved without delay.
- Carry out daily checks across the station, covering batteries, chargers and safety equipment, and report any damage, fault or hazard you find.
- Submit shift reports before and after duty, recording attendance, power consumption, swap activity and any incidents worth noting.
- Watch how battery demand changes as swap volumes rise, and tell your supervisor when stock needs to be replenished.
- Update the supervisor on station visits and take on other duties as the needs of the station require.
Requirements & Qualifications
- KCSE certificate or vocational/technical training; qualifications in a related field are also acceptable.
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Basic understanding of electric vehicle charging systems is an added advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to deal with riders face to face.
- Able to keep pace and stay accurate in a busy, fast-moving environment.
- Careful attention to detail and the discipline to follow instructions and procedures.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts as scheduled.
- Application documents: copies of your NSSF and KRA PIN records, SHA registration, and a valid Certificate of Good Conduct. Note that payment is made through the bank, so an active bank account is required.
- Referees: three referees, each with full name, job title, organisation and valid contact details.
