Role Overview
As a Bancassurance Officer, you will be embedded within our banking partners to drive insurance sales through face-to-face client engagement. Your day-to-day work involves identifying customers’ financial protection needs, presenting suitable insurance products, and managing a healthy sales pipeline from lead generation to policy issuance. This role directly supports our retail distribution strategy, making you a key growth driver for our insurance portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect and generate new insurance leads through bank customer referrals, walk-ins, and targeted outreach within assigned branches.
- Conduct in-depth client needs assessments and recommend appropriate life, health, or general insurance solutions.
- Manage end-to-end sales processes, including policy applications, document collection, underwriting follow-ups, and policy delivery.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline and produce weekly/monthly sales reports for management and bank partners.
- Collaborate with bank relationship managers and tellers to maximise cross-selling opportunities and ensure seamless customer experience.
- Deliver product presentations and group briefings to bank staff and customers, clearly articulating policy features and benefits.
- Ensure strict compliance with IRA regulations, insurer underwriting guidelines, and internal sales conduct standards.
- Track personal sales targets and participate in continuous learning to stay current with product knowledge and industry trends.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Actuarial Science, or a closely related business or financial field.
- Certificate of Proficiency (COP) in Insurance is mandatory.
- A valid IRA licence to sell and advise on insurance products.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in insurance sales, preferably within a Bancassurance or financial services distribution channel.
- Demonstrated ability in prospecting, managing a sales pipeline, and producing accurate sales reports.
- Strong public speaking and presentation skills, with the confidence to address both small groups and individual clients.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-first mindset and the ability to build lasting relationships.
