Job Description

Role Overview

This role embeds you at the centre of the company’s decision-making, partnering directly with the CEO to turn raw operational data into clear, strategic insight. Your day-to-day involves pulling information from ERP, order management, point-of-sale, merchandising, and e-commerce platforms, then transforming it into dashboards, KPIs, and recommendations that shape how the business buys, stocks, and sells. By connecting the dots across procurement, logistics, retail, and supplier performance, you help the organisation spot inefficiencies early and act with confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a suite of performance dashboards and scorecards covering procurement, logistics, retail, and supplier health, with monthly metrics published within two weeks of each period closing.
  • Own the monthly procurement reporting cycle, including analysis of past-due purchase orders, realised savings, payment terms improvements, processing times, and spend distribution by supplier, department, geography, and category.
  • Track supplier mapping and performance for all brands, using spend patterns, compliance data, and agreed KPIs to recommend process efficiencies and prepare inputs for cross-functional business reviews.
  • Validate and rationalise data pulled from ERP, OMS, POS, and merchandise planning systems — investigating discrepancies, cleaning up inconsistencies, and ensuring reporting reflects accurate information.
  • Produce monthly logistics and retail metrics, covering purchase price variance, cost of goods, receiving discrepancies, on-time delivery rates, inventory months on hand, freight and expedite costs, vendor lead times, basket size, brand performance, inventory movement, and store profitability.
  • Collaborate with department heads to question existing KPIs, design new ones that better reflect current goals, and periodically review whether the metrics still tell the right story.
  • Support demand planning by supplying the procurement team with historical sales trends, buying patterns, and forward-looking intelligence that helps optimise stock positions across every retail location.
  • Translate analytical findings into executive presentations and data visualisations that make complex trends easy to grasp and provide practical, well-reasoned recommendations.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business intelligence, reporting, data analysis, or a related commercial analytics role, with demonstrable experience working alongside senior leadership.
  • Strong command of SQL and Excel, plus proficiency in a data visualisation tool such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems and retail data sources — including order management, point-of-sale, and merchandising or allocation platforms.
  • Excellent understanding of core retail and supply-chain KPIs such as purchase price variance, inventory turnover, basket analysis, and supplier performance measurement.
  • Proven ability to take messy, multi-source data and turn it into clean, reliable reporting that drives action.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of presenting findings to executive audiences in a clear, compelling way.
  • A methodical, proactive approach to problem-solving, with solid project management instincts and comfort handling multiple deadlines.
  • Relevant degree or professional qualification in business, data analytics, information systems, finance, or a related discipline.
