Job Description

Role Overview

This industrial attachment opportunity is designed for degree and diploma students who must complete a practical work placement as part of their academic programme. As an attaché, you will spend a structured period within one of our operational areas, gaining hands-on exposure to the seed production and distribution value chain while working alongside experienced professionals. Your time here will help you connect theoretical knowledge from the classroom with the realities of a working agribusiness environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day activities within your assigned department, which may include field operations, seed processing, quality control, or administrative functions.
  • Assist technical staff with data collection, record keeping, and preparation of reports relevant to your area of placement.
  • Observe and participate in routine procedures such as seed sampling, germination testing, or crop inspection, depending on your academic focus.
  • Contribute to ongoing projects by performing tasks allocated by your supervisor and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Engage with team members to understand how different departments collaborate in the overall production and supply chain.
  • Maintain accurate logs of activities undertaken during the attachment period for evaluation purposes.
  • Adhere to workplace safety, quality, and ethical standards at all times.
  • Prepare a final attachment report summarising the experience and lessons learned.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Must be currently enrolled in a recognised institution of higher learning, pursuing a degree or diploma.
  • Relevant fields of study include agriculture, agribusiness, plant science, seed technology, agricultural economics, or other disciplines aligned with our operations.
  • Must be in a position where the attachment is a mandatory requirement of the academic programme.
  • Ability to commit to the full period specified by your institution and our placement schedule.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn from supervisors and peers.
  • Basic computer literacy for documentation, data entry, and reporting purposes.
  • A proactive attitude, punctuality, and the ability to follow instructions and work under supervision.

What We Offer / Why Join

By joining us as an industrial attaché, you will gain practical experience that directly complements your academic studies. You will be part of an organisation that values talent development and partnerships with learning institutions, and that sees student attachment as a way of bridging the gap between educational curricula and real industry expectations. This is a chance to build professional networks, understand corporate operations, and strengthen the competencies you will need as you transition from student life to the workplace.
