Role Overview
This role focuses on building and deepening relationships with intermediaries—brokers, agents, and direct partners—to drive sustained revenue growth. Day-to-day, you will manage the full sales cycle, from lead generation and quoting through to account retention, while ensuring every client interaction reflects a value-first mindset. Your work directly supports the company’s market share objectives by turning intermediary relationships into reliable, long-term business pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong, mutually beneficial partnerships with assigned intermediaries, consistently identifying up-sell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Manage the end-to-end sales process with a disciplined, consultative approach, ensuring each stage adds measurable value for the client.
- Use best-practice client relationship management (CRM) tools and methodologies to track activities, prioritise accounts, and meet business growth targets.
- Monitor sales and retention metrics weekly, reporting performance against agreed KPIs and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Prepare and submit accurate quotations, proposals, and tender documents in a timely manner, ensuring they align with underwriting guidelines and client needs.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with underwriting, claims, finance, and operations teams to resolve service issues and deliver seamless end-to-end client experiences.
- Conduct regular visits and performance reviews with intermediaries, providing product training, sales support, and motivation to boost their engagement and output.
- Plan and execute market activation events—such as roadshows, outreach campaigns, and broker workshops—at strategic locations to generate leads and strengthen brand presence.
- Monitor competitor activities in the market and report on emerging threats or opportunities that could affect the company’s positioning.
- Ensure all client documentation—including proposal forms and personal details—is complete, accurate, and compliant with operational manuals and the company’s Code of Ethics.
- Enforce credit control policies by managing cash-and-carry transactions and supporting debt collection efforts where necessary.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Business degree or equivalent qualification in a related field; additional certification in sales and marketing is a strong plus.
- Formal training in sales techniques (e.g., consultative selling, negotiation, or account management).
- Professional insurance qualifications such as ACII, FCII, or equivalent are considered an advantage but not mandatory.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in retail or B2C sales and marketing, preferably within a financial services or insurance environment.
- Proven track record of meeting sales or retention targets in a client-facing role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills—able to influence and motivate external partners and internal teams alike.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities, from preparing tenders to organising events, within tight deadlines.
